But here is my swastika: APOLLONIA PONTIKA AR Hemiobol OBVERSE: Anchor, A in field REVERSE: Swastika with two parallel lines in each quadrant Struck at Apollonia Pontika, circa 500BC .28g, 6.54mm SNG BM 149; Moushmov 3146 ex. Aegean Numismaics
This little lines in place of a legend remind me of my Sri Lanken imitation of a Roman Coin: Sri Lanka Anon. 5th C. A.D. AE Indo-Roman imitative, 13.12mm x 0.7 gram Obv.: Bust right, with dots representing legend Rev.: Cross within wreath What is the weight and size? As a brief glance through SCBC there is only one Anglo-Saxon coin that looks to have a swastika (802A). Obverse might fit, but it's a stretch.
interesting little coin! no idea what it is! i'm with pellinore, swastikas are pretty common on indian coin and the bust looks pretty "easternish"....for lack of a better word. maybe indo-parthian? look at the coin here... https://www.beastcoins.com/Parthian/Parthian.htm
here's a coin i recently reshot that made me this of the OP coin, the angular shaped beard in particular. this was my first eastern ancient.... Indo-Parthian, Sases, AE Drachm, 1st Century AD O: Bust right. R: Pallas, Shield and Thunderbolt. 11 mm, 2.7 g.
INDIA, Pushkalavati anonymous civic or guild AE coinage c. 185-160 BC 1-1/2 karshapana Diameter: 24x23mm Weight: 11.70gm Obverse: Elephant right, chaitya above Reverse: Lion left, swastika above, chaitya at left
