One of coins I scored today, last day of my club's show. Relatively rare left facing portrait of Titus.

Nice! The much rarer left facing portrait of the tripod & dolphin reverse.

If anyone wants a really rare variant of the type - look for a left facing version with two ravens atop the tripod. Harry Sneh had only come across one specimen and sold it to me nearly 5 years ago. I've never seen another in trade.

    T132.jpg Titus
    AR Denarius, 2.92g
    Rome mint, 80 AD
    RIC 132 (R2), BMC - , RSC -
Obv: IMP TITVS CAES VESPASIAN AVG P M; Head of Titus, laureate, bearded, l.
Rev: TR P IX IMP XV COS VIII P P; Tripod, with fillets streaming out l. and r., on which are ravens r. and l., and in the centre, dolphin over wreath
    Ex Harry N. Sneh Collection.

The RIC frequency rating of 'R2' grossly underestimates the rarity.
