I was just wondering if anybody knew what this is? My great grandma has it and bought it from someone at a garage sale, it is a homemade frog with a coin in its mouth just wondering if the coin is gold and or real. It has 25 paise on both sides. But i cant find any coins like it. First pic is bottom second is top WP_20170507_16_00_36_Pro.jpg WP_20170507_16_00_06_Pro.jpg

That is not a real coin. Those are bubbles and tool marks from the casting process of the figurine on the "coin".

It is a real but damaged India 25 paisa coin that was inserted into the cast brass frog at the time the frog was made.

So it is real but, is it gold? To me it looks like somebody soldered it into the mouth or something like that. It does not appear to be made like this. And both sides of the coin are the same i cant find any coin like this i can see 25 pasia coins but none gold colored or with the same thing on both sides.

You can get a jeweler or pawn shop to test it with acid, but from appearances, it appears to be made of a similar metal as the support, copper mixture. If it is a real coin, it is not gold. Jim
