Picture-taking has never been one of my strengths. However, I think these came out OK and well reflect the coins as they are in hand. They are certainly far better than the old pictures I had of the two coins. I still need to improve on the lighting conditions. Regarding the coins: The 1794 should be instantly recognizable to large cent collectors. Who can guess what the Sheldon number is, or what is this variety called among EAC collectors? Glad to hear your comments on the pictures or the coins. Thanks,
Very nice coins. The half cent has tremendous eye appeal per the great pictures. The cent is also very nice!
Thank you, alurid. I am glad the lighting appears to be even. The pictures were taken with natural light. Nope (I wish it was!)
That is correct, Moekeever, it is an S-24. Maris called this variety the 'Scarred Head'. Sheldon's father chose a more endearing name - 'Apple Cheeks'. That name has stuck.
