I'm not sure what you're talking about here. "Recall"? "NO P"? 2009 dimes came in P and D; neither I nor Google (apparently) have heard of a no-mintmark variety.

Your photo looks like a grease-filled, die-worn, and/or damaged 2000-P dime to me. Greasers and worn dies can be interesting, but they generally don't draw a premium.

LOL, if they were easy to find do you think a AU details/cleaning one would sell for over $500?

You pretty much nailed it. Those coins in circulation stayed in circulation too. People couldn't hoard change jars anymore and commerce was slowing anyway so there just wasn't the need like in other years

So what's the deal here; are you just making this up as you go along or what? Unless I'm missing something, your post makes absolutely no sense. You had a dime sealed in "original mint packaging", supposedly "spent" by an ex, and you somehow, magically, managed to locate this very same unremarkable coin in the possession of some woman? And where on earth did you come up with $4500?

Note to self: neckboots, neckboots, neckboots!

I have three 55 gallon drums full of bronze cents and am almost ready to start on the fourth. These have been culled out while looking through circulation cents. I haven't saved the zinc ones and I have NEVER found an 1998 or a 1999 wide AM.

The mintage might not be low at 96 million, but of all the lower mintages in the millions, I think this one has a good chance at gaining value for the follwing reasons.

    1) Virtually no one knows of its low mintage - except folks like us

    2) They were all made for circulation. None were sealed in mint sets.

Unlike the 1996-W dime which had a lot of fanfare and hoopla with its release. Also those were all released in sealed sets.

The 2009 Nickel is no easy find in circulation as well. I look through at least 10 boxes a week. I have only found 2 S Proof 09 from the boxes. It is a good thing I bought 2 boxes of P and D nickels each when they were released for face. I get my bank to get me 2 boxes of each every year and buy for face when they arrive. Unfortunately, I have never really collected non-silver dimes.

lol it seems like not a lot of ppl don't pay attention to dimes nowadays unless they are silver haha I find dimes to be over meticulous to look through. But I want that W mint mark and a 2009er so here I start haha

Top pop for the 09 dimes will go for more, but you will need a very high grade to approach that value for either mint mark
