Yeah, Daniel Carr has some interesting pieces, I really enjoy looking at all the pics of what folks collect.
Those I would love to see in the original state quarters. Those are awesome though. I would want a nevada one.
Won the auctions for these last week and they're due tomorrow, can't wait to see if they look as nice in hand as they do in the pics.
I love it!! Those do look pretty nice. Lemme know How hey turn up. almost want to reach out and adjust those dimes. I know no one really cares about dimes lol but you could at least put them in the package the right way lol (talking to the mint) check this out thought. This is pretty cool though. While I was looking at 2009 buisness strikers I ran across this coin
Very interesting posts regarding military coins/currency. I have been collecting POGS since 2006 when I was over in QATAR. Anyone here collect the pogs ?? Would like to chat some time. Tracy
Good Morning JWT. I was not aware you were Air Force, or it may have slipped my mind , like a lot of things lately. I truly was admiring your ancient tokens/coins. How long have you been collecting them ? Reading your info about the Pogs ; The first issue of POGs that were used for monetary purposes were released at AAFES facilities in Afghanistan in or around Nov of 2001. The three tokens of the first issue have distinct color schemes that were not used on later issues ,but all of the other 5 cent tokens have dark blue backs with white numerals. For the 10 cent and 25 cent tokens the back grounds are yellow brown and orange red, respectively, and the numerals are also white. In the year 2002 they started placing pictures of military equipment and soldiers/airman. This 2nd printing of Pogs was issued in April of 2003 had no Date on them. It wasnt till Dec 2003 with the issue of the 3rd printing and each year after that the POGS were dated. When POGS are used overseas, they are constantly recycled through the area, however, once the POGS are used in a Stateside AAFES Facility, they are destroyed. With the mandatory Eagle CASH Card being issued in 2009 , POGS are getting harder to find. 2011 was the last year the POGS were printed.
