Nice! Just curious I think you're a new collector so I wanted to ask, what attracted you to this coin? I'm just sort of curious what people get interested in, that's all.
Really nice, that was on my watch list. Forum's pictures are rather harsh in my opinion but that means your always getting a better coin than pictured.
Do you like bronze Titus? LYCAONIA. Titus, 79-81 AD, AE19 6.23g Obv: AYTOK[RATWR TITOS KAISER] Titus bust Rev: KLAYD EI[KONIEWN] Head of Perseus Von Aulock Lykonians #286-8
Im new to ancients. Been collecting US coins for 18 years. You guys got me interested in ancients by what you all post. Then the history and the fact i have gotten a little bored with US coins. I have determined that Roman Imperial coins are what I want to collect. I like the style, especially of the early imperial coins. Im working on 12 caesars currently.
Same thing happened to me! I was just curious what was "calling" to you, that's all. There is tons of variety in ancients and should you get tired or bored with Romans you can always go Greek, Byzantine, non-classical, Republican...there are a lot of choices!
good! you're already showing signs of being a ancients collector by leaving your specialty and collecting other stuff
Excellent! Another convert Minor point though-- your new Titus is not a Roman imperial coin, it is a Roman provincial coin. Nothing wrong with collecting imperial and provincials . (I often prefer provincials).
Yeah I am aware. I will obviously collect both. It would be hard for me not to collect those big beautiful tets. My 12 caesars set is going to be a mix of silver and bronze, imperial and provincial. I was going to do it in all silver denarii (and still might) but Caligula and Claudius had to screw that up for me
