I was able to order one proof Jefferson Liberty!!!!! Can´t beleive it, took me more than an hour!!! OK, so lets guess its price in the near future... NOT that I am planning to put it on sale. 15 days: $1200 2 months: $800 end of year: $1500
Count your blessing Pellegrino, I spent over an hour on the phone and all I ever got was "We can't take your order right now please call again later!!" I'm curious how many lines they had working on hold. This was the worst brick wall I've ever hit with the mint! Luckily, I got on this forum and found out the web was working, albiet very slowly and finally got an order in before the Waiting List came on!
As for prices, I've always felt the so called "BATCHELOR" series would be the most popular, since it would only involve a few coins. An added plus is the Obverses will be more collectible also. The first one is always the most popular in a series and this one should be no exception, it could be GIANT!!! May take time for the economy to recover where collectors will be able to come up with some major bucks also!! I think the Christmas price will be at or near $1000. at least!! I think the Proof is going to be beautiful and I plan on keeping it, maybe let the Unc. go.
Signed on at 11:45 this morning...placed my order for 1 proof and 1 uncirc at 12:05 PM.. Confirmed.. Nice coin and I feel that it will appreciate rather quickly! RickieB
The third coin in the Spouse series just went on sale today Danar.. are you talking about the Martha or Abagail?? A pre- Sale on Flea Bay for this coin at that price is well...stupid! This coin will be one of the nicer one's and value will escalate quickly...my opinion only! RickieB
They will... From the mint web site: The gold coins issued to accompany any President who served without a spouse will each feature a design emblematic of Liberty on its obverse, as depicted on a United States coin originally issued during the President’s time in office. For Thomas Jefferson’s presidency, the selected image appeared on the Draped Bust Half-Cent coin from 1800-1808, and was originally executed by United States Mint Chief Engraver Robert Scot.
Did you see that one seller has 14 for presale - LOL - loco is right, if you are paying that kind of money for a presale auction from a seller that is advertising more than the mint would allow you have more money than - well you know, or do you??? LOL...
Actually it's not THAT difficult to gather 14 sets. All it takes is having 14 friends who are willing to spend the time to go online and order a set for you. I rounded up 20 friends myself and we were all online logged in to the mint website at 11:45 ...just waiting for the clock to strike 12.
I think for the presale coins the guy probably takes the highest winning bid among all of them and just tell the low bidders that he was not able to get the coins within the 30-day window.
They are. The next one (Jackson) is based on the Classic head half eagle 1834 - 38, And then the one for Van Buren is based on the Classic Head quarter eagle 1834 - 1839. That was a mistake in my opinion. those two coins a re VERY similar in appearance. I would have preferred that the Libertys be noticeably different. I wish they had used the capped bust design for one of these two. There has been no announcement about the design for the fourth Liberty yet. And then of course we get Alice Paul for the fifth.

I read "For Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren, who served as President without spouses, First Spouse coins will bear an image of Liberty, as represented on a United States coin issued during their terms of service. The reverse designs will portray a design representing the themes of each Presidency". Andrew Jackson - Capped Bust Half Dollar Martin Van Buren - Liberty Seated Dime
As I posted in another thread.
