From one Doug to another Doug - Happy Birthday Doug!!! And of course, I owe you my gratitude as well since much of my understanding of ancients has come from your writings. Your pages were some of the first I encountered and I'm still enjoying and learning from them (and you here) often. Hope you've had a great day. -d
Yes, I do. There are a lot of the Shahi jitals around but I have to like the ones like this Tye 23 that have such clear legends on the flan. In this case, the 'good part' is over the horse's head but any one of these with both ends of both animals on the flan is just a little special. It is not something to be assumed that we can find perfect specimens of every coin just because we throw a lot of money at it. This was one of the last Shahi variations that I added to my collection and I never did add it to my bull/horseman webpage. Sure, we would like all our jitals to have a face on the horseman. I wish all my BH coins were at least this nice. OK, yesterday is past, time to move along to Cinco de Mayo.
