Have what's looks like 1999 NS penny, have attached couple zooms but not full picture of coin, left it at home, any thoughts? And site says I get a trophy if I post somewhere on this site lol.
You do have a 1999 close AM penny. It's the common one, though. Here's more on the CAM and WAM varieties: http://www.lincolncentresource.com/wideams.html
Thank you, I've just started collecting, so much to view and read... Just got to have an answer before I view and read more. Thanks
Congrats on at least having one of the varieties! So many new members post pics hoping for a variety that aren't even close!
She doesn't have one of the varieties, sir. Unless 99%+ of 1999 cents are now considered a "variety", it is, unfortunately, just a regular coin. Welcome to the forum, Laura; hopefully next time luck will be on your side.
Lol! I guess that's why I long ago abandoned coin roll hunting....Those repunched MM's and missing pillars made me cross-eyed!
More like a "type" The 1999 came as one "type" WAM, probably all from one die, and a second "type" CAM, from all the rest of the dies. They have the second type, which is extremely common.
