Coin question

    I have a coin that has been packaged or sealed and marked 1 escudo Mexico 1714
    I've looked it up online I'm just trying to get idea of it's value

    I think the first thing you need to ask is "if it's real"?

    Better pictures might help for those that are familiar with Mexican coins to offer an opinion.

    Not sure as to authenticity or not but did find this on line. Looks very similar to what I have found, but unable to find anything on prices, sorry.

    KM has it in the $1,000's range.

    I don't think it's real. These were rather crudely made coins. Here's what an authentic 1714 escudo should look like. Many were recovered from a 1715 shipwreck.

    That 2x2 looks like it has seen a lot of action so whoever put it in there did so a few years ago.........gut feeling........it ain't real, but I'm no expert.
