Hi everyone, anyone have any information on this gold coin? I believe it is a Obverse of Coin - al-Hafiz li-Din Allah, AH 526 / CE 1131-1132. 2239 But I am no expert by any means. Thanks
I see you found how to do a new thread. However, I have no information on your coin. There are others here who collect these. Just wait a bit.
Welcome to the forum! Saddly I can't help with your coin, but don't worry, someone will come by that knows these.
The inscription on this coin looks like gibberish. I think this is an imitation of a Fatimid Dinar, with pseudo-kufic inscription. These imitations were struck during the time of the crusades to resemble the local coinage in Jerusalem and other places.
Its completely out of my field of knowledge, but here is a Kingdom of Jerusalem imitation Bezent 12th-12th cent. from Acre for comparison. 23mm 3.59g.
