Great find, and in great conditon considering you found it in circulation. As to value it tends to go up in value the betteer the grade. I'd definately keep it, but in XF/AU it not really expensive, but you got it for only 1 cent!

 

You wouldn't believe the number of hours I've spent going through change jars to find that coin!!! Good for you, but ARGH for me!

It is probably because 1995 wasn't that long ago, relatively speaking, so these coins aren't that old. I also think they minted a lot more Doubled Die cents in 1995 than in 72 or 55.

In 1995 the news of this DDO caught on really fast. Folks were grabbing every bag they could get their hands on. Sealed bags were being sold and shipped all over the US. Large quantities of this DDO in higher grades were found. It was a fun time.

 

I initially misread the title and thought it was "1955" lol. Anyway, that's a nice and strong doubling. Congrats!

 

I bought this one for around $95:

 

All I know is I've been telling my wife we don't shop at Target enough.

Maybe that's the seller he bought it from, and it's a multiple item listing, and that coin was used as the main photo. 9 sold, 9 remaining.
