Barber coin error or damage

I cant figure this out. The bottom of the reverse looks like it was damaged, but the rim appears to be ok. Does this look like damage or something that happened before being the strike?

I think it was bad lighting. If you look at the second picture, the damage is gone.

 

I had seen that lot, I don't know what it is.
My fear was that the damage (?) that disappears in photo #2 is there is real life.
So, I passed.

 

Thanks. It is nice otherwise. Times in the past this sort of thing has left me with something undesirable and after the seller not responding I will pass.
