Well, there are more than 6, but these were the most interesting.

Great site :hail:, and I've searched extensively through the archives for the coins I have, but have come up empty :headbang:.

These were inherited by me, from my father, from my grandfather. My grandfather emigrated to America through Ellis Island in the late 1920's.
These coins were in terrific shape when I received them. They were in a leather pouch, and seemed not to have been disturbed for quite awhile.
Without further adieu (No pictures yet, my camera does  in closeups):

Well, that's all for this post. There are others, but I don't think they are worth much (well, I could be wrong, right?:thumb:)

Thank you all, in advance, for any information you may provide on these pieces:bow:

    Regards,
    Herr Mueller

The problem is that there are hundreds of pages of German-related coinage in the 19th-20th centuries, and without pictures it's just too difficult for anyone but a real expert in German States coinage to locate the coins described.

Thank you, sir, for your reply! I've been meaning to borrow a camera to get some shots. As you can tell, I am very new to any of this, and didn't count on there being so many variations of the coins (I've done a little more research, holy cow!). I guess it's time I hit the ol' library and search for a good reference. Any suggestions in particular on 19-20th century?

    TIA

They mostly sound like late german 2nd Reich coins, but I'm on holiday and don't have my krause with me.

What am I missing? Five of the six mention either a Kaiser or a King in their legends, automatically dating them no later than Empire times.

Hi folks. New kid in town. Saw this thread and thought I'd pull out my Krause and Mishler.

    Herr, Mueller,
    Here's the ID's I came up with:
    1) Bavaria, 1 Mark, 1828, "Blessings of Heaven on Royal Family", KM-386
    2) Prussia, 1 Thaler, 1818, Berlin Mint (A), KM-396.1
    3) Bavaria 1 Gulden, 1861, KM-444
    4) Prussia, 5 Mark, 1914, Berlin Mint (A), KM-536
    5) Bavaria, 3 Mark, 1909. KM-505.1
    6) Weimar Republic, 1928, 3 Mark, "Death of Albrecxht Durer", KM-58

Values will depend on condition, but the first and sixth are probably the most valuable. at $100+, even with moderate wear. Don't attempt to clean them!

I spent over an hour revising my needs list to extract and recatalogue the individual German States on page 2 of my excel spreadsheet. I was surprised to find out that there are 92 seperate German States in the 1800 Krause (of which I only have 18, so I have quite a task ahead of me). Trying to establish ID without pics takes more patience then I have. If anyone is interested in the spreadsheet, PM me.
