Meet my new cherry '64 Roosevelt. You can't really tell for some reason, but it has light green edges that move into pink before fading into the silver. Barely, and I mean BARELY a scratch. Full band lines. Darn near perfect? I think I'll get this graded. Can anyone tell me how to take pictures, with a phone for now, and get good quality WITH good color? Appreciate it! Let me know what you think about my newest friend. Cherry1.jpg Cherry2.jpg

I'm seeing double lips and chins...

Beautiful coin. I'd toss out an MS65-66 guess on this due to marks on the upper left leaves, handle of the torch, and A in America.

Terrific coin. Strong strike - they get weak at the obverse periphery and yours isn't. Is that a scratch along the jawline? It's in shadow, and hard to tell. That would be enough to limit the grade somewhat, but it sure presents the eye appeal of a high-end example. With the scratch, a 65FT that looks like a 67. :)

My reply didn't post, so I apologize if this is a double. No doubles, only shadows. Compared to other PCGS 67s, mine is just as clean, if not better than some, especially the edges. All of the 67s have minor scratches. The jawline scratch really is not so bad, the shadow really enhances it. I appreciate the feedback!

Yeah, that's about as good a place to hide a scratch as you'll find. :)

Unfortunately, it should bear on the technical grade, just not as heavily as if it were in a more prominent area, which, in my grading opinion, would pull the technical grade down to 63-ish.

    I'd own it. :)

Thanks for the feedback. Having it in hand I personally think(hope) it will grade out higher, again based on previous 67s. I'll be sending it out Monday, so I'll post the results of the grading. Apologies for the poor photo. It's actually on a bathroom counter in a hotel. :)

Thanks! Taking a picture with a phone, in a hotel bathroom doesn't do it justice.

Green18, I'm traveling right now and picked it up. It does sound shady though, huh?

Taking pictures of a coin in a hotel bathroom. You said it troubled you. Perhaps it was just the background, not the situation...

LOL.......it's just that a recent stay, with a major motel chain, has turned the wife and I off to staying in such places.

That's what some call a 64 hot lips.....that I discovered the doubling that is.I submitted the first 64 P to Wiles @ varietyvista.com , he attributed it a signed it a number, and a month later changed his mind and de listed it. There was a write up in error scope .Some still consider this a ddo but no one will say 100%. Wiles calls it an clash now !
Nice 64 hot lips no matter what others call it.

  17. That's no shadow. That looks more like a double profile to me as well. TC

I realize I'm new here, but can anyone tell me where the lips become double/ "hotlips" on my coin? I see no resemblance to the actual doubled/hotlips. I tried different contrasts through my loop. All I see is a very deep strike. 20170429_201647.jpg 20170429_200955.jpg 20170429_201647.jpg 20170429_200955.jpg Screenshot_20170429-202438.jpg

It's a beauty. I'd take a shot at grading it but I get dizzy when the grade is this high.
