ok im new and probably will get crap for this but I was at the car wash about 3 mos. ago and got one of these from the change machine...at the time I thought it was a sticker put on by a kid but even still the love I got for coins won out and I put it in my wallet then in my misc. parts i'll never need drawer once I got home....until I happened to see a news clip on these coins and almost tripped running to my sacred drawer hoping the wife wasn't on a laundry fix(I swear that woman can smell a quarter half mile away) ...well she wasn't and now I got it in a protecter sitting next to one of my GSA morgans!....I know it's kinda lame but I never...ever...find stuff like that so I'm gonna hang on to it...there actually going for pretty good money on ebay! I'd put a pic. of it in here but im computer challenged most of the time!:headbang:
The value of your Morgan just decreased by association I was also lucky today when I found a steel cent in the reject bin of a coinstar. It will be an interesting conversation piece as part of your collection - Congrats and welcome to Coin Talk... Darryl
Thanks Darryl, Im glad I found this web site....I'm going to my first coin show in 3 weeks in Long Beach Ca. And maybe I'll actually know what to do or look for or buy if I pick some of your brains!:thumb:
Good Luck - Make Sure you bring a 10X or 30X loupe!!! Try to get a copy of the grey sheets for the coins you may be interested in buying. Better to be preparred! You can get a copy of the past editions of the grey sheets on their web site for a small fee - it's worth every penny (no pun intended.)
"noted and got my 10x ready" "...all I gotta do now is convince the wife that spending paper money for old coin money isn't retarded"
Here's my Silver Surfer Quarter I got at the carwash change machine! http://www.cointalk.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=20952&stc=1&d=1188424066
