So was reading something online about 1982 philly small date copper is kinda hard to find and was wondering if this is correct info or I am just mis understanding it. Cause I found one that weighs 3.0 grams.
The 82 small date zinc 2.5 grams is worth more. And the SUPER RARE 1982-D small date copper, is the find of a lifetime.
I save every 82 penny. And 1983. You really should think about weighing every single zinc year penny, I do lol.
Yes 1983 copper cents (3.1 grams) have been discovered and they are worth 5 figures. (They are all supposed to be zinc 2.5 grams).
Hi, Newbie here. Thanks for the information! So 1982-P small date copper are "normal"? Ive kept mine, as I wasn't sure. Some forums say copper, while some say zinc. Also Ive been rolling up any cents after 1982, unless they're in extremely good condition; excluding the WAM and CLAM lol, so great information on this thread
Okay, so I have the 1982- D 3.1 grams as well. Basing it on my both my homemade scales. One with a business card and battery vs. the other with a Popsicle stick and screw driver. I'll upload pictures of the homemade scale later and I've ordered one on Amazon just in case my measurement is off.
Last scale used: Compared a 96 vs 73 and the 73 Lincoln coin was heavier. Than compared the 82-D pictured on the left side and left the 73 coin on the right- No tipping.
I just went thru close to 10k 1982 cents. (had these coins for about 15 years) Removed all "D" mm. Looked for ddr on the 1982 small "P". NONE found (what a shock). Looked thru the small "D" mm and none were copper. Again, what a shock. Took a long time but it was for the "thrill" of the hunt
No mint mark means it was minted at the Philadelphia Mint. They only used a P mint mark once in 2017. Other than that it's normal.
Oh... I just realized that Tyler Grayton was never able to get his member name changed.. What a sad situation.
