my daughter does her share of fundraising. i like to go through the bills looking for radar or star notes. i stick them asside and tell my kids to sell them after i die. i maybe had 2 dozen notes put away - mostly stars but a couple radars. i went through the notes one day and found something wierd...all these notes with normal serial numbers and no stars. i was wondering why i put these away in the first place. it turns out that a couple weeks ago we went on vacation and we asked a relative to house sit. well, one night he ordered chinese delivery, and couldn't find his wallet. but he did find my stash and paid for his food with: 4 star singles a star $5 and a $5 with the serial number 00500500 then after he found his wallet, he replaced the bills! i am glad that i wasn't too attached to them...:smile...but, i do miss that $5 bill.
with relatives like that, the house would be better off empty. What would he have done with your gold coins? Replaced them with quarters?
Amazingly enough, in the past 3 weeks, I have found 6 star notes, and a repeater. I probably should put these away in a safety deposit box.
i know someone who had a whole $500 strap of $5 silver certificates. they had their brother housesit for them for the week while they were on vacation. well this brother decided to go to vegas about an hour away and spent the silver certificates. he spent them in the slots, for food, and other things. there are now about 30 $5 silver certificates floating around. since he only took $150, he replaced it with a new $100 and a new $50, and put the strap back where he had it hiding. :headbang:
FUNERAL?!? hey, i had to pay for his services! the poor guy is unemployed.... naturally, i deducted the $14 from what was due him...
Yep, Funeral...cuz I would have shot him on the spot for spending that$5! and if it were from NY, I would have let BZ Collector have first shot! Lock up your good notes and trust only your memory with the combination!! RickieB
