This is a particularly pretty coin that I've had for quite a while:

Teotihuacán is a complex around 25 miles from Mexico City, which contains the ruins of an ancient city from around 100-300 BCE, including pyramids. To my knowledge, nobody knows for sure which civilization constructed it, as it was already in ruins when the Aztecs came.

On the obverse, the coin depicts the Pyramid of the Sun, which is one of the 2 large pyramids there, along with the Pyramid of the Moon. A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of exploring the complex and climbing the Pyramid of the Sun. It was a very interesting and surreal experience.

    Enjoy the pictures!
