Your coin looks like a very bad copy. That's not even a 8 Reales.

it doesn't even look like silver to me. you should probably familiarize yourself with what certain coins should look like before you get involved. google images will show you the difference. I would personally never buy any coins from craigslist

I don't think you need to go that far!

Is this a coin you were looking for? Do you collect these type of coins? Do you know how to look up information when deciding to make a purchase?
What did the seller tell you. Maybe they thought is was real and they didn't know if it was fake or real... for $35.00 you didn't lose out that much... but if you paid what it really is worth which is anywhere from $250.00 - $300.00 then you would of really lost out!

This one is from a different mint and date but it's what a genuine coin of that type would like like. Compare it to yours -

I feel foolish but we all make mistakes I should just stick to my niche in USA coinage

Yes we do, even after decades of collecting. I could probably retire a few years earlier if I'd never made a poor purchase or selling decision. It's just the cost of learning. Just don't make the same mistake twice, or it really hurts.

The obverse is clearly a horrible fake.
I am not even a world coins guy and I could see that immediately.
