This is a 66 kenedy I found in a roll last weekend. I would like some opinions. Thanks:hug:

Looks like a typical AU coin to me.

possibly from a SMS (Special Mint Set).
    They were typically PL.

It does have a rub on the cheak, but I have never seen an unc kenedy with such a high gloss, mirror like finish.

Glossy or not, there is no way that is a proof or prooflike , as there are no signs of frosting (cameo). Maybe "Slightly prooflike fields" would be better.

    PS: practise your spelling.

It is probably a SMS coin which was the mint's replacement for proof coins in '65, '66 and '67. I do not know about the circulation issues.

    Jerome:
for the record, until recent times, not all proofs had a cameo effect.
In fact, even today there are differing degrees of cameo.

For the SMS finishes, there are some with a cameo effect-- and they are very scarce.
Also, if not sure, check Morgan dollars, not all PL's have a cameo effect, some have no cameo at all.

practice not practise--- let he who is perfect do the correcting. (And that isn't me. Man, do I miss Roy! Even when he yelled at me.))

Not sure but kind of looks like one of the types of coins I experiment with to see what cleaning looks like. I find that the jewlery cleaner sold at Walmart leaves a gloss shine on many coins similar to that. Maybe not, but sure looks like it.
