Why legend on obverse are strange, overllaping?

As TIF says, the obverse is double-struck. Also, this is a Laodicea ad Mare issue, during that city's brief tenure as an Imperial mint, so the style is a bit different than Rome mint issues, particularly in the lettering.

Nothing strange, just double struck. While that might affect the price downwards a little, for some collectors who like to collect coins with minting-issues such as double strikes, flans with scoop marks, etc., your coin went from average and plain ordinary to a very desirable and interesting coin.

Personally, I'm in the interesting camp. I would want this coin in my collection over an average example of the same coin. That is a sweet double strike.

While I do like technically odd coins, this is not strange enough to command a premium. It is a nice reverse and excellent bust style. I'd probably prefer it without the double strike of this level but it is a keeper either way.
