I bought this coin unseen (I know it was stupid) but it was for price. I was told what it was graded and who by and figured it was a decent buy. After getting the coin and taking a look at it its hard to believe how well it was graded. Looking forward, is there grading companies to avoid and which ones are the best. Ive obviously learned my lesson not to buy a coin before taking a good look at it before hand. Stupid me.
The fact that it looks as tho the coin had been wiped clean near the center along with the discolour along the outside of the coin
Coloring has very little to do with the grading of a coin. For that coin, the strike is good and there are few marks in the fields.
if it was cleaned the grader would most likely have caught that and it would be marked so, the coloring is just the way the coin toned....
NGC is clearly the top TPG for non-US coins, at least from the coins I have seen... and I agree with the other posters, this Canadian dime seems to be very nice and original for the grade.
