    The American coin dealer Fred Weinberg threw away a US $4 gold "Stella" back in 1986, which at the time, was valued at 65K. I tell you this so that every time you think about your lost coins you should just rather think about that poor sap instead.

    I do hope they turn up.

    Have you prayed to St. Anthony yet? 100% success rate.

    My mother does the St. Anthony prayer when she misplaces things and she's not even Catholic :D

    (Probably not a "real" prayer... with a sheepish look she says "Good Saint Anthony come around, there's something lost that must be found")

    St Anthony not a good idea.... the wife catches Steve on his knees lots of explaining to do...unless there's a bottle of CC next to him.

    I found a remote control in the fridge once.
    Sorry to hear of your loss. In the boonies of northern Manitoba, maybe aliens kidnapped you and did scientific experiments on you that you will only remember if you find the coins?

    To make things legal...

    I bought this coin for a couple reasons, but one of them was you Steve. Animal coins make me think of you.

    @stevex6 -
    Ouch! Sorry, mate!
    Was there a book/file/newspaper (or anything else) in your knapsack that the envelope could have slid into when you placed it in there?
    Another thought - when you got home, what would you have done with it? Perhaps you did do that and have forgotten it.
    (I have the opposite problem. I keep tripping over coins that I forgot I had.)

    Yes => and that's why I am dreading the recycle => which was taken away last week!!

    :panda:

    ... bu I'm still hoping that the envelope surfaces when we tidy-up

    Yeeeeeeeeeeehhaaaaaaaaa!!

    => I found them!! (yeah!)

    The envelope was tucked into my work boots along with some layouts that were rolled into a tube ... I must have tucked the envelope in my boots when I was carrying my work stuff to my locker?!

    ... totally awesome news, eh? (I'm not a completely horrible coin-father ... just a forgetful one!!)

    BTW it recalls me of my wife coming back home from work after it had stopped raining, some years ago. She was wearing her raincoat and her folded umbrella was hanging at her shoulder. She eventually put her keys into her pocket and went away (an enormous key ring with hundreds of keys). She then couldn't find her keys for days, until the next time it rained and she opened her umbrella above her head....:)
