Washington quarter question

    Hi

    The question is 1962-1964 Washington quarter are 90% silver? So is the 1964 the last year and 1965 started what?

    1964 was the last year for Quarters minted in silver

    1965 on - The current clad version is two layers of cupronickel, 75% copper and 25% nickel, on a core of pure copper. The total composition of the coin is 8.33% nickel, with the remainder copper.

    There have been some silver 1965 quarters found but they are extremely rare.

    @paddyman98 answers the question for quarters, but half dollars were 40% silver in 1965 (up to and including 1970).
