hi everyone! me and my mom were at an antique shop a couple months ago, and this guy had frames cut out to put a cent, nickel, dime, quarter, and half in the slot for you birth day year and hang them on the wall. i thought thats a good idea. i didn't buy them, but we are going back down there this weekend to pick them up. i'm going to put together 7 sets of cent, nickel, dime, quarter and half for the years 1946,1959,1980,1982,1985,1988,and 2004. i'm doing them all for my close family. i think i can get most of them if i get rolls of coins from the bank. i have alot of the coins already. i just wanted to share a neat christmas gift if someones looking for a coin related gift this year!:hail:
I like all those mail order catalogs so I get lots of them. I never order from them but some interesting stuff. Now back to your idea. In aHarriet Carter Catalog, page 49, there is the same thing you discribed. You can order them per date. Each one contains a cent, nickel, dime, quarter and half. Prices vary pending dates naturally. 1971 to present is $19.95. Prices continue upwards until the 1919 which is $119.98. Naturally you have to pay Postage, handling, etc.
mint products give 2006 3-pc return to monticello jefferson nickels set at $6.50 to kids. give 2007 w uncirculated am eagle silver dollar at $21.95 to close friends. give 2007 proof am eagle silver dollar at $29.95 to relatives. give 2007 spouse gold to you lover or sweet heart at $411.95 for uncirculated and $429.95 for proof. opps. never mind the wifes.
i'm just going to put the best i can find circulated coins in there. all my family likes the worn look of the coins. i'd rather have a XF 1946 nickel in there instead of a BU 1946 nickel.
