Web notes don't have plate numbers. I found all the rare blocks in circulation including a star. I sold them years ago before they had much value. I regret it but the bills have to get paid. I STILL have 300 or so circulated that I stuck away. Are they really bringing $15 each now?
There is a number. It's just in a different location. Above the E. Not a plate number, but there is a number.
BEP CATALOG NUMBER 6905 $1 Notes, 32 Notes Per Sheet, Cardboard Frame $1.00 L SAN FRANCISO, CA 1988 181644 179835 REV. Removed this 32 note sheet with serial numbers 181644 obj 179835 rev from its black cardboard display. The BEP used stickum to anchor the sheet to the black display. I USED A SMALL PIECE OF ARCHIVAL TAPE TO COVER THE STICKUM BEFORE ROLLING THE 32 NOTE SHEET WITH THE NEW 50 NOTE SHEET. WHAT IS A WEB NOTE?
I remember going to the bank in those years following and seeing pallets of used money that they were destroying because they wanted to get rid of the web notes
Please see posting under: Forums/Paper Money/POST YOUR WORLD PAPER MONEY UNDER UV LIGHT forWeb Note under UV light, two pics of web notes.... Quite a bit can be learned about a note's history and present condition with UV light. one with a very messy Fine Appparent condition, and the other in (CU) Crisp Uncirculated condition.
