I don't have much experience with the Peace Dollar type and I'm deciding whether or not to submit this one to PCGS. The surfaces are genuine and the coin has nice luster in hand, but there are a couple semi-deep scratches on both sides that are of some concern. Though I don't think it would warrant a details designation, I'm not sure. At any rate, I would appreciate any help on the potential grade if I were to submit. Thanks.

I wouldn't submit it. I think it would get EF details , to many scratches.

All the above. Not worth having graded.

And possibly damaged, too. Those reeding marks all over the obverse are exceptionally heinous.

i also agree all of the above grading analysis... TPG would constitute throwing money down a rat hole.
Put this coin in your book so you can show you have one. Be on the lookout for a better one. Use this as an example of a damaged rare coin.

Those are pretty large looking reed marks? Could they be from a counting machine possibly? Unfortunately, I would say the value overall wouldn't warrant sending it in to be graded, but in the long run, if you feel it should be graded and you enjoy this piece, then you should send it in :)
    Best wishes,

Ungradeable. Damaged. Too many gouges on the obverse. Would have been XF45 or so, but basically worth less than half of an undamaged XF coin. Do NOT submit.

The coin is far too damaged to straight grade
