So, you've had the coins for a week - don't you usually put them in your album soon after they arrive. When is the last time you think you saw them? Do you recall putting them in your albums?

Oh man I'm sorry to hear this! I have some of my tokens that I've marked in my spreadsheet as "possibly missing." It gets hard when you have closer to 500!

No, but there's the rub => our basement is being reno'd so I didn't put the coins into the safe like I would do religiously (Mr. OCD etc) ... but the safe is one of the only items that remained in the basement due to its 500-600 lbs weight

So, hopefully the coins are hidden in the mess in our upstairs abyss?!

... ummm, but I still can't help thinking about the recycling truck pulling away ...

Can close-calls when opening packages/letters be included here also? If so I've had a time where the coin itself (no holder, nothing) was within some tough cardboard I was having trouble with. Had no idea where the coin was within it. So I took scissors to it and of course the blades happen to meet right next to the coin itself, close enough to where if I had sneezed or something the scissors would have probably moved over the space where the coin was and I would have damaged the coin.

Perhaps the wifey found it and put somewhere? Maybe take a chance and ask, just make it inconspicuous (big word, had to use a thesaurus :D) like a brown envelope or something like that. You never know.

Again => that's not her M.O. (ummm, do you dudes all have crafty wives, or what?)

My wife is more likely to whip it at my head, than to hide it and make me sweat!! (man, I love her)

I received a token that came in the cardboard box from Stoffer's lasagna!
And the token was literally taped to the package! Worst packaging I've ever received. If it wasn't rough to begin with I would have made a bigger deal about it.

Just to be clear...the box was the envelope, but turned inside out and stapled together.

Elementary dear.... Watson...It's the old Ploy by the feminine species .....to drive men nuts ...to the point that you crack!
Then since she has the goods ,and plays the cards like she knows that you know that she has the coins...but the truth is she knows that you really don't know for a fact she has the coins.... what else does she knows? She knows it's a "waiting game"....sooner or later you're going to slip, she knows that you're going to act strange ,and get caught like digging through the dry cat food....even though you don't own a cat!
She knows that the jig is up, and now it's a waiting game .... until she pounces on your coin buying secret .
What you don't know... is that she knows you don't know about the new make up purchased off QVC that the post man delivered and charged her a $100 CAD GST.
And the reason she knows that you don't know is she had pick it up while you were at work....ya know?
What's really bad is you don't know is during the same QVC show she purchased a Ivanka Trump knock off dress. Now what you should know ....and she doesn't know is that....that dress is a Chinese fake!
And you ask Paddy how do I know that the dress is a Chinese fake? Well you know these fake dresses are made in sweat shops in China. What we all should know is that these sweat shops aren't union shops!
So you know that they don't get union lunch breaks....so by chance you walk into your walk in closet and smell sweet and sour pork... bingo you now know about the knock off dress,and...you now have a bargaining chip to use you know?
man I hate to be in your shoes..... :banghead:

Wow, that's an ugly idea (but certainly a legitimate concern)

Yah, not only do I know all of the carpenters, but we've also "penned" them out of our upstairs area because of our "sweet" dogs ... so possible, but unlikely that someone would break the barrier and then find my missing envelope (and again, I have zero clue when I last saw it)

    ... it's a sad tale ...

Another thought you may wish to check the dogs poo.... of course if she catches you squishing the pooches poo's .....you're up poo creek.

Maybe one of the dogs ate them. Do they ever chew up or tear up paper or cardboard?

Time to start dissecting your dogs' poop :D

Look on the bright side. You probably won't lose them again.

My gf, hides my stuff in her purse all the time. She knows I won't go in there.

One time she asked me to get her cell phone from her bag, once I opened it I saw a small envelope in it. She had picked up my package at the PO for me without telling me. Nice but a bit evil. :D

I hide her stuff too, but now is not the time for that...

I haven't had any coins go permanently missing once I had them safely in my possession at home, but I have had two separate shipments go missing in the last year while still in transit by the Post Office. Fortunately both were insured, so I was eventually able to get my money back, but I would rather have had the coins. And I did have the shipment that was damaged in transit a couple of months ago:

-which makes me believe that the two previous packages were also damaged but did not survive with enough intact address label to make it to me :grumpy: .

Nooo! That seriously sucks. With the remodelling going on, it's possible an envelope lying around somewhere may have been accidentally trashed? Or possibly just misplaced somewhere in a pile not obvious at the moment? Anyway, I hope it turns up eventually.

I have three "lost" coins right now. "Lost" because the auction house had sent them to the incorrect address. It's been a little over a month since the wrong daddy picked them up from the post office and I alerted the auction house about it, but they've yet to fix the problem and are starting to be a real PITA about the whole thing... not-responsive to emails, no updates about what they're trying to do to get my coins to me.
