Saw a Bailly trade dollar pattern, J-1315, on eBay (see URL). At first, thought it was just worn and abused. Closer inspection makes me think it's fake. There's the flying cabbage between the face and right hand. But close inspection of the hands compared with images in Coin Facts (see URL) makes it look very iffy. There are other irregularities too. Seems a strange coin to fake. Not many real ones exist, they're all expensive, and pattern collectors usually aren't novices.

Could the "Flying Cabbage" be a plugged hole?

(Not that I think it's real, I'm just sayin'...)

Edit: here's another example of a real one from Heritage

Comparing it to a Heritage image:

    https://coins.ha.com/itm/patterns/1...is-bailly-s-design-for-the-seate/a/422-1503.s

I can't imagine any sort of "wear" that would make the denticles stretch to twice their original length.

I'm no expert on the original issue, but those images just scream "cheap Chinese fake" to me.

Here's what I suppose the eBay coin would look like if not "worn":

Look at the blobby letters in the motto, especially "E".

If you look at their other coins for sale I'd say they are all fakes. A feedback rating of 3 and Negative feedback "Coin was a cast copy"

I'm still not quite sure. I might have to take a chance on this one. Ya never know.... The one thing that really separates this seller from his peers is the complete disregard for punctuation. He doesn't need capitalization. He doesn't have time to push the 'shift' button. He's too busy finding the best deals in the world to bring to us, the customers.
