This piece is a wonderfully toned Morgan with layers of creamy patina covering practically every surface with hardly a hairline to be found. The luster is subdued under the patina but still there in-hand, just not captured properly in photos.
I would be willing to bet that that coin was completely toned over all surfaces at one time. Something was done to the surface to remove the toning . The nature of the patina on a coin wouldn't look like this unless it was dipped or cleaned in some manner . Send it in to a TPG and see what they say.
Thanks. I did a triple take when I saw it. The blue color reminded me of the 1970's and the wild felt lined boxed Canadian coins.
This is a 2003 that looks better than the picture. A 55 wheat pretty dark A 2013 with a golden tone And a blew my mind 2014!
