Purchased last week. I mean what isn't to love about it. It depicts a freaking volcano on the reverse lol TIBERIUS AR Drachm, Caesarea, Cappadocia TIBEΡIOΣ KAIΣAΡ ΣEBAΣTOΣ, laureate head right QEOU SEBASTOU UIOS, Helios standing left atop Mount Argaeus, holding globe and sceptre. RPC 3620, 3.74g, 18mm And of course Mount Argaeus now called Mount Erciyes, the stratovolcano depicted on the reverse. Mount Erciyes, Kayseri Province, Turkey Post your Tiberius coins or anything mountains or volcanos
What an awesome coin! That is certainly a contender for my favourite reverse type struck for Caesarea. Congrats on your new acquisition!
Very cool design. You're right- what's not to like about a volcano on an ancient coin? I've only had two coins of Tiberius. Both were "Tribute Penny" denarii. There was this one and prior to that, another one that was very similar (same grade, slightly less toned). By coincidence, I got both from @Aethelred, a few years apart.
Not just any old volcano, but a holy one too. Nice coin! LUCIUS VERUS AR Didrachm. 6.64g, 21.4mm. CAPPADOCIA, Caesarea, AD 161-166 (Cos 2). Metcalf 131d; RPC Online Vol. 4, #7030. Great coin, and thanks for sharing that pic and info, I have often wondered what mountain that was on coin.

Super example @Evan8 Congrats on such a sweet coin with lots of eye-appeal. My sole example (a drachm) of Sept Sev and Mt Argaeus is not as nice as all those posted...but it's mine
Once upon a time I collected only coins depicting Mt. Argaeus. I no longer have any, maybe its because I live next two two volcanos myself (one I have climbed numerous times).
