    Hello,
here is yet another coin from my collection. This is another one i had to pursue long and hard (more than 25 years ago) until i found one which i could afford. It is in low grade, with the eagles' head just barely visible. The date is a bit weak but it is definitely clear to the unaided eye. Again i would appreciate any comments as to the number of axamples exisitng today. I do know that is is not a rare variety of the 1794. Also please comments/opinions as to the grade. As i mentioned, almost all of my US coins are not erncapsulated since i bought them before encapsulation became common, so your opinions will help me to document my collection.
    Regards,
    Eduard

You have excellent taste in coins.
That one, I would say is VG +.
The reverse I wouldn't worry about-- it is weak from the strike, not wear.
However, that said, the obverse may have been cleaned.

    Leadfoot there is no spoon

I would grade the coin VG details, cleaned, net G.

Don't know what to grade it without consulting my standards book, but it's a great piece.

Looks like VG details to me. I think that the coin may possibly have been in the ground for a time and been cleaned. Overall, a great and appealing coin though! Nice piece!

Thank you everybody for your comments.
What i would still like to know is what is the approximate number of extant pieces of the 1794 Half Dollar. If possible, also which variety of the 1794 this is. I understand there are several varieties for that year.

I believe that this is the O-101, with Obverse 1; and Reverse A.
Are there any die cracks on the reverse? Look at from edge to the F (in OF).
If so, it is probably O-101a.

    Frank,
Thank you. Yes, there is a very faint die line at "OF". This is the O-101a. variety. I finally know what this is.
I will post a 1795 Half soon. I hope you can help me to identify the variety with that one also. It has been for ages in my collection.
    regards,
    Eduard
