Hey all, Picked this up today. I don't usually collect this type but bought on a whim because the details looked nice and the price was right. Does this tarnish look natural or the result of a botched cleaning? I don't really know anything about these so just trying to further my understanding. Thanks.
That's what I was wondering too, no info from the seller on that. My first thought was gratitude that it had at least been left alone and not polished or scrubbed that I could see. Appreciate your takes on it... she's crusty but I kinda like it.
Appears to be a slightly above average strike. A weakness in strike of the first "I" in the "III" tends to be the norm but yours is not quite as bad as the average.
Thanks for all the replies! I paid $11 for it. Most of what I see in that price range have a very flat, 2D dull grey look going on with few details. I think this has some character despite the damage so I feel good about it even if I paid a bit too much.
