    ....as in Azes II, of the Indo-Scythian Kingdom!

    Lol, I think. It's been a long couple of hours of looking at Greek coins.

    BASILEWS BASILEWN AZES (most of legend is half gone); King on horseback, right.
    No legend (Or maybe, but I have no idea.); Zeus holding winged Nike in hand, who holds wreath.
    Obverse: S in lower right field.
    Reverse: B over retrograde Gamma? in lower right field.
    MIG 2435?

    Best I could match up on WW. Still a neat coin and a type I have wanted for awhile.

    is this what's know as a Bactrian coin? i have a few of these and have no idea other than "Bactrian" of what they are.

    Well, there were the Bactrians and then there were the Indo-Scythians. Similar styles, but the Indo-Scythians kind of had a more "Eastern" look to them like the one above. The Bactrians were more "Greek with fancy hats". 3964 3965.jpg

    Not the best image, but still, see the Greek guy in the fancy hat? That's a basic look for Bactrian folks.
