Gordian III denarius/Diana Lucifera reverse

    This is a awsome Gordian III, bright and having a hard time getting an accurate photo. My photographing skills are not the best either but I like to hope I'm improving.

    There are some really nice denarii of Gordian in this thread!
    I have no silver Gordians to show; but it is OK to show our bronze Gordians, yes?

    I have this sestertius of Gordian, with Sol on the reverse. I found this coin back in 1990 or so, and it took me about a week to find out who the dude was.


    Gordian III (238-244). Æ Sestertius, Rome, 240-3.
    Obv: Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust r.
    Rev: Sol standing l., raising hand and holding globe.

    Of course it's ok. Bronze Gordian III are still Gordian III coins, are they not? My only sestertius of his, a Securitas reverse.
