The coins wouldn't need Variety Attribution if they were regular pennies and a quarter. I'm not happy that it's taking this long. My customer copy says 15 days Est. turnaround time, I should be able to see what variety and grade my coins are but i can't.
Then you know NOTHING! Just because they want to soak you for verifying the varieties you're claiming does not automatically mean they're going to confirm or label them as such. You're right in that they wouldn't need variety attribution being as they're simply everyday examples, but you're paying them to look and that's ALL this is.
Be prepared to have a longer wait. I have a Regular submission with a 18 day EST currently in business day 50. I also have an Express submission with an 8 day EST currently in day 20.
Over 90 days @Rare-Tim I would be a little Ticked off, that they haven't got them attributed and stabbed yet.
Tim just take a screenshot like so. Then we can see for ourselves. Then click the blue number and take a screen shot of the actual coin(s) like so so you can prove us all wrong. See the label should say DDO like so. Yours should have FS-001 Im curious did you send it in when you said at the start of the thread or after all the inquiry?
I'm not quite sure he even believes himself anymore. Notice how he first lists actual grades and supposed values, yet turns around and essentially admits he's received no such confirmation from PCGS? It seems he's basing his belief the coins were attributed as being what he claims based solely upon the fact they want him to pay for attribution. It's most regrettable that this will be such an expensive lesson, but as they say, you can lead a horse to water....
If you called them those varieties on your submission for then they need to have the Variety Attribution fee paid whether they really are those varieties or not.
That's what I was thinking. I read that they will not charge extra for major (most Red Book) varieties since they already have separate codes for them.
Hmm. Kind of makes me wonder if the OP doesn't believe the pro's on here then I wonder how many times it will take the TPG's telling him it isn't the rare variety before he will believe it.
