A couple new gold error coins

    Picked these up the last few days. Both have a nice rotation error, with the 1847-O being almost 180 degrees!

    Got the 1847-O reholdered, and TrueViewed. Whoo hoo!

    It's better to show the pics like you would normally instead of flipping the reverse slab upright in the pic. Who cares about what the reverse looks like right side up ;)

    You forgot to add the obverse on top of it for full effect ;)

    You know why they called it 160° CW instead of 200° CCW right?

    I honestly don't know why they even added CW. I've never seen that done.

    That means clockwise. If the top of the design is located on the right half side it's a clockwise (CW) rotation, if it's on the left side it's a counterclockwise rotation (CCW). For instance, you cannot determine whether a rotation was counterclockwise and went past the 180° mark or if it was clockwise and didn't reach 180° yet so no rotation can be labeled as over 180° just somewhere between 1° to 180° and either clockwise or counterclockwise. Make sense?

    Ya, I knew it meant clockwise, I just don't know why it matters. I've seen them say 90 degree rotation, but never really seen them point out which direction.
