1854 large cent

    Are these die cracks??? And the reverse is rotated about 25% to the right.... I made a vid o of flipping it over but it won't load.. IMAG2761.jpg IMAG2762.jpg

    Die cracks would be raised off of the surface because the metal would flow into those weaker areas of the die as it was struck.

    When large cents were removed from circulation, circa 1857-58, did the Mint intentionally mutilate them upon receipt, so they could not be "stolen" and reimbursed again?
