I just got my first two last Friday. I personally don't intend to pee on any of them, jus' sayin'. I wonder if Dansco will reprint the pages to add the "-P" or just leave it alone.
Yes the shields are junky looking. Should have brought back the wheat reverse for 1 year, that would have been special.
Really? We went through shields and allegories of various kinds before the first "mere building" was first put on a circulating U.S. coin in 1938. People screamed bloody murder in 1938. "A building?" So now we get rid of a stupid building and go back to an allegory, and guess what, people scream again. No wonder Congress critters don't take coin people seriously. We're nuts! "Muwaaaah, it's uuugly!" Tough, live with it. There's a gazillion good reasons to kill the cent. The current reverse is NOT one of them.
Nothing to do with the reverse, it's all about the series, which is named shield cents . I love the lincoln series and maybe if the mint can get the strike down correct, my interest in them would be better . There's lots of die polishing going on most of that series, seems the mints are having lots of trouble striking them ..
I haven't seen one in the wild yet. I'd rather have the building than the shield and the wheat rather than the building.
