I have looked at their sites and still am confused. Guess I would need to call them. Thank you for trying to help me.

    doug444 STAMPS and POSTCARDS too!

About 5 years ago, somebody told TPG's they were leaving money on the table, so it's been confusing ever since. I, too, appreciate the 3 URLs posted by rickmp.

    First, welcome to the neighborhood!

Before you submit them for grading, why don't you post good photos of both sides of each coin (one coin per thread) in the US Coins forum? Some of the other members can give you their opinion on their condition and whether or not they would be worth grading.

Please don't be offended, but we often have newcomers think that the condition and value of their coins is greater than they really are.

With NGC and PCGS you have to become a member. With NGC you can choose their $149. Package and you will get $150. in credit towards grading& 10% off their supplies. But there is no credit towards shipping. That's a pretty good deal and their membership lasts for 1 year. To grade one coin I would say $30.- $40. all toll including shipping. Anacs on the other hand does not make you join. They are a lot cheaper and even have grading specials as cheap as $10. a coin; BUT they are not recognized as well as NGC and PCGS. Although they are great for identifying different VAM types with the Morgans and they have some very good graders. But when you go to sell an ANACS encapsulated coin you will get a little less money compared to the other 2 giants. With NGC the different tier levels are chosen according to how fast you want the coin graded and the coin type as well as the coin value. This is all explained in the drop downs on the different tiers. Hope this helps.

Well it really depends on what each is worth, but assuming each one is worth less than $3k, it would cost you about $800, maybe a bit more.

If each one is worth less than $300, that would drop to a bit over $600.

Those are just estimates but they're not gonna be far off.

But like cpm9ball said, the real question is are the coins even worth getting then graded ?

Yes I would agree with that. I will see if I can figure out how to post a picture of coin.
