I think I would have a hard time passing that one up if I found it in a shop. Weakly struck but has real nice surfaces. I would like to see it with more refractive light before I'd think about sending it to CAC. PS- I have never even had a coin Graded, I have a stack that I am pretty confident in and may send this summer, just not yet.
The only coin I regretted selling over the last 6 years of building my Barber Half set. (I sold out twice thinking I was done collecting) Four years later it's back home, but at double the original cost. But who cares about that?
You are probably right to an extent. The thing is, this is the lowest pop date of the entire set. And one this nice is a heck of a lot harder to find than I knew back then. Eh, people probably think I'm a sucker for collecting Barbers in the first place though.
I sold or gave away all my coins some years back, just before I retired and moved to another country. Then I missed some of those coins...and I discovered ebay, and now I have way more coins than ever! Plus I keep learning more about coins and history, a lot of it from you guys on here. I am glad I can share a picture of some especially nice coin now and then.
These photos don't do these coins justice, they are stunning to see in hand. I was going to re-shoot but I didn't want to handle them to much. The rays do have full frost.
Im a fan of that 2005, Looks great. I mostly treat my bullion as such. Never had any graded. Now proofs on the other hand, I would have graded, as well as a 96 or Burnished UNC. But thanks for sharing!
Thanks, all my silver eagles are in Dansco albums. I have 1 for the Proof and 1- for the Unc. all I'm missing is 95W Proof. By the I have cracked out Proofs that were slabbed to put in my Dansco.
Does this quarter that I just got at lunch look like the FS-25-1951D-101 Variety to you guys? I thought it did so I bought it for 10 dollars. Its kind of subtle DDO, I think
I just bought this. It's the last one I need for my set. Can't wait to get it and crack that baby out.
Picked these beauts up today while visiting some family in NEPA. While looking at the Morgan in the LCS it looked like the "earring" was on the 2x2...sadly it's not, but I'm still proud of her.
