Where are the "two different fakes", Jeff? Every supposed "64-D Peace" posted in this thread is a "fake". Perhaps it would be better to label them simply as "non-Carr" copies or the like.
And if you'll re-read my one-sentence post, you'll see that I spoke only about two particular "fakes". I said nothing to step on your peripatetic toes. I think we're all in agreement that no genuine 1964-D Peace dollar, struck at the Denver mint and spirited away in defiance of the order for its destruction, has appeared here. Well, all but one of us, perhaps.
Umm.. you did indeed. Now, if you're willing to apply the term to all, that would be something! "Appeared here"? No... most certainly not. You could only be so lucky...
If anybody's interested in the smooth edge broken sword Peace hard times "failure" token for $45 there is only ONE left available. Will Dan strike more? Who knows. But if he's done this is your last chance to get one.
WHY DO YOU KEEP GIVING THESE UPDATED (IN STOCK) INVENTORY REPORTS ??? I'm really curious as to your response. Are you just being helpful to other members ?? I don't get it truthfully!! I'm as big or bigger a supporter of Dan's work, but I really don't get these updates as you do appear to others as a promoter. One thing is loving and showing off your acquisitions and another is constantly giving countdowns of inventory remaining . Please PM CC or explain it to me on the forum .
Really? Yes. Just to help if someone here wants one at issue price and hasn't grabbed it yet. I was checking how many were left earlier for giggles and only 1 was left so I thought I should let peeps know. I don't need to promote his stuff. You of all people should know that it sells itself. Tell me how letting a forum know that only 1 is left of a $45 item is me promoting anything. What's my gain here? What am I getting out of it? You don't see how ridiculous the thought of me posting that as some sort of nefarious promotional statement is? And for you to be saying that is a little stunning to me. Well not really I guess after some recent comments you've been making on CU. I've had multiple members message me wondering what's up with you lately and honestly I don't know myself. But whatever you want to believe have at it. And I don't constantly post countdowns aside quickly selling hot items which many of us do. Just like hot US Mint items. And I'll post this here as you seem to want to hash this out in public so why would I respond in private. Peace bro
I've offered you on multiple occasions over two forums to discuss my position towards you in private, however for whatever reason you are afraid of what I may say to you in private I am happy to see you are a collector of D.C. Pieces , but unfortunately I also see you as also a CHERRY PICKER of his items . When you purchase all of his releases as you suggested (ridiculously) that you may try to do then I assure you I will be a believer in your conviction. What I see is someone that purchases an item and then continuously promotes and hypes that item until Dan no longer is producing it in hopes of achieving maximum profits . Illegal no !! Sincere, well I'm still on the jury debating the subject. I only see you hyping pieces to the point that dealers ,that don't even care for his work are now buying it simply for flipping purposes. That may sound hypocritical to you and others as I was probably the biggest secondary market seller of Dans work over a 3-4 year period. What others said to you in any forum PM is unimportant too me as it's opinion and it wasn't said to me personally and I know most everyone of the D.C. Collectors on these forums . I don't want to say anything more that may be deemed as mean or hateful, so I'll leave it at that . You are entitled to do what you like as you are not breaking any rules. Peace Bro , Larry PS . Wow. So that's what you think? Ok. Let me settle that then. As I've said before, in response to one of your posts I believe, out of my 50+ various Carr items, both overstrikes & original designs, I've only sold 2, dos, deux, TWO. Maybe you're forgetting that? So I ask you, how am I pumping items for sellouts in hopes that my posts will lead to higher profits... when I so rarely sell any of my pieces! Here's the truth, like it's any of your business but I'll lay it down. Its pretty simple. I'm a big fan of his work. I think what he does is brilliant and it's one of the most interesting areas of modern numismatics. I buy his pieces just like everyone else and when I post stuff it's to share with others that like his work and also to maybe expose those that may not know about his work to it either now or when they casually read a thread months or years from now. Its no different than a fan of a particular hobo artist posting about said artists work. Dan just happens to be ubiquitously more popular than your average hobo artist. That said, who cares if I, or anyone, is selfishly trying to pump his stuff in the hopes that it would somehow lead to higher aftermarket prices? That wouldn't be necessary however as his stuff sells out by itself and garners decent premiums on the aftermarket already. I'm glad you think so highly of me I suppose, that I would have such power, but I don't think someone posting about specific pieces will have an appreciable effect on said pieces above and beyond their natural course. You seem to have a hair up your butt about people who sell his items which is hilarious as you sell a ton of it. You were cool until a couple of weeks ago then something happened. Its like a light switched off for you or something. Just keep to yourself and buy and sell what you like and stop projecting on to someone who doesn't even sell his stuff. A pump and dump "Carr cherrypicker", who me? That's funny!
Thanks for the heads up. If I didn't already have one this would have been very helpful. Thanks again for looking out for us DC collectors.
