The obv. is struck in odd way that there appears to be a fold in the center, it looks as though there is extra material or it was deformed around the head. notice the wide G in god, and in letters of WE TRUST, the N is not visible in IN really at all. any input would be appreciated. thanks guys.
It's damaged - see the rim at the top? An indication that something hit the coin and caused the 'bend' or whatever, in the center part of the coin. PMD
Post mint damage. If I can't describe what and where in the minting process something happened to screw-up a coin, I automatically look toward PMD.
Considered, However, my curiosity is how do the letters get fat ? if it was hit after or damaged in some way in circulation, how do the letters change in width / bulk? appreciate the input really.
With circulation/damage design elements can increase in size. Many circulated wheat cents seem to have class six doubling but don't exhibit the distortion of design needed to be attributed as doubled dies
Maybe, my eyes are going and cant see what you guys are. I would say that taking the coin out of the flip, taking a picture of the affected rim, and a rev pic would be helpful. With out other pics I am inclined to say PMD also.
