Alright fellow Numismatic Enthusiasts, I need some help her please and thank you. I have a 2015 P Louisiana Kisatchie National Park Quarter that appears to be abraded, or just heavily polished. It resembled something called spark erosion with the patterns displayed but I don't believe they do this at the mint. What do you guys think? Would it even be considered a mint error? I've never seen anything like it before.
I know something's up there. I've never seen nothing quite like this one and I have looked at thousands upon thousands of coins.
I'm still pretty sure it's a trashed die, pushed way too far beyond it's usable life. Maybe add a bit of grease?
Without a doubt, trashed dies! I was thinking the same thing, a little grease goes along way...lol.. I just want to know how to properly attribute it.
I believe people call it die fatigue. i'm not 100% sure. I know there is a good amount of kisatchie quarters like that. I see it all the time.
That makes since. I don't search quarters much, problably why I haven't seen it before. Thanks for your reply.
