Am almost certain this a die crack but so far haven't guessed one of most anything right; lol, no not disappointed at all, part of the learning curve and greatly appreciated. Back to the coin. this is one nifty die crack if it should be .... from the way wore it appears just snakes its up over around threw, which of course it does not but just nifty to see, at least to me. Thou
Yes, it does appear to be a die crack. Note how it is also visible through the letters and the wing, and it is raised as a result of metal flowing into the void of the crack. Does it extend to the rim above the "D"? Your photo doesn't show that. Chris
The 80's-90's were notorious with cracks on the left wings from Philadelphia. Many a multiple crack coin have I found also in this era. Harder to find on the right wing though but also check for internal cracks and from the head to the rim on these.
Nice crack. I love Washington quarters with really nice die cracks. Next to look for will be a clashed die Washington. Some of them will make your head spin.
Yes it pretty well does go to the rim then almost to the edge of the wing. Just pretty aggressive . thank you all
Well from what I can say you're just shy of being a retain cud. I would suggest you make a visit to cuds on coins, under retained cuds.
