Not in the best shape, a bit ragged, but I like the detail - and don't you just want to pinch that chubby cheek? Honorius (Augustus) Coin: AE4 DN HONORIVS P F AVG - pearl-diademed, draped bust right GLORIA ROMANORVM - three emperors standing side by side holding spears, outermost ones rest hands on shields, the middle one holds a globe. LOL, ummm... NOPE, Ain't pinchin' his cheek! Congrats, I agree, you have good detail! My Honorius: RI Honorius 393-343 AE3 15mm Arcadius and Honorius Stdg And here is a chubby cheek for you to pinch! Celtic Imitation Philip II AR drachm Kugelwangel type
Arcadius and Honorius are below(both Antioch) but I don't have Theodosius II. Does anyone? RIC says they are common from several mints and no more rare than the other two but I won't believe one unless the legend is clear. Many of these are not all that obvious which of the three names was intended. Coin Project shows four of which one is really clear (but the others are correctly IDed). If I see one for a reasonable price fos a RIC very common coin, I'll be buying it.
I know that mine is Honorius, I probably paid too much for it. There are quite a few on Vcoins, a lot cheaper, but not clear whose name is on the obverse. It was the detail on the reverse that drew me to it.
Very nice @Pishpash!!! I'll pass on any cheek pinching for now Cool posts !! I especially LOVE the reverses of the three Emperors!
