1885 p morgan w/strange finish

    Can anybody tell me if there was ever a matte finish struck in 1885 if not was there a prototype or a Judd Maybe? 20170327_230631.jpg

    Judging from the condition of this coin, I would call it a "circulation finish" rather than a matte finish.

    What is circulation finish? Is it a applied finish cuz under 30x magnification this finish on this coin has a unique finish I haven't seen anything of the sort I can even consider trying to compare it to

    "Circulation" - meaning that the coin has been used in circulation. You don't need 30x magnification to see the wear on it.
