To start, no, I don't have a photo ~ I'm so sorry. I've been looking for this 'coin' but not sure if it's a coin or a token ~ have poured over the Krause until I can barely focus. The coin is about the size of a US quarter, is copper or bronze, the obverse has a viking ship & the number 5 and the reverse has a sheild with '1960' in the shield but '1980' above the shield in the field. The legend on the rim reads as if 'turkey' but cannot find it. Would appreciate any assistance, ideas, etc. Thank you.

Cyprus, 5 mils. The "1960" is part of the coat of arms; that is the year when Cyprus became independent. So pretty much every coin from CY will have that year. :D In your case, 1980 is when the coin was actually issued.

There's an excellent reason you didn't find it in Krause - it ain't there!

If the token you're looking for has the country name spelled like the bird Ben Franklin wanted to use as a symbol for the US, it almost certainly didn't come from the country that's located partially in Europe and partilly in Asia, and spells its name "Turkiye Cumhuriyeti".

Edited to add:Gotta learn to type faster!
